"After a week aboard a 40ft catamaran sailing. As we were running our last leg back to port, we overtook a sailboat with a family aboard. Two adults and a girl shaded from the sun in the cockpit, and upfront on the prow, sat a young boy dangling his legs over the side. The water moved like liquid glass. The reflections of the bow, the hull, and the boy's skin reflected in the water. "606" refers to the numbers on the side of the hull distorted in the reflections on the water.
From the painting point of view, I have been thinking about painting close-up views of the different patterns of light and color that show up on the surface of water for quite a few years. It was never the right time to explore it more fully, just an occasional piece here and there. So with "606" and my other recent water paintings, I have given myself more time to investigate this ever elusive muse. This feels incredibly satisfying."
Annie Kaill's is excited to offer Grant Pecoff's artwork. We regularly carry his fine art prints and prints on metal, which are ready to hang on the wall. Larger canvas editions are also available.
